Composer's Note
I wrote this short fugue rather spontaneously, to flex the mental muscle in a beautiful way that only writing a fugue can do. I intentionally veered away from the type of dry, serious fugue writing common in the 20th century and instead went for a strutting, pleasant, calmly andante pace, delivered in my own semi-jazzy idiom. Making it for saxophones came very naturally out of the music that had bubbled up.
