Hold On was composed at the request of Barry Jekowsky, conductor of the California Symphony, who asked for a piece to honor the memory of Sue-Ann Armienti, a cherished member of the symphony’s community who had tragically passed away. He requested that the work convey a positive outlook on both life and her passing.

Written in a single day, the piece was premiered at her funeral, offering a moment of reflection and solace for those in attendance.
