Composer's Note
A funny, absurd, and farcical work, Tipsy celebrates the joy of being good-humored and silly—pushed to a point beyond sobriety. The piece revels in uninhibited, even embarrassing behavior, the kind that emerges only when inhibitions are let go.
Tipsy is pure lightheartedness and fun. When reworking the piece for a 2022 performance, I reimagined it as a clown entertaining children with farcical, over-the-top silliness.
